About Us

We perform a unique service by connecting technology, grass roots organizations and persons looking for jobs or employment skills.
Our goal is to help congregations and community-based groups to become active partners in helping people find work and stay employable, including connecting individuals with the Michigan Works! One-stop Service Centers. We focus on recruiting and training volunteers in local faith-based and community-based organizations, so that they can inform unemployed and underemployed persons about services available through the Michigan Works! and other programs.
These organizations help persons either:
• Access information and services available in their communities and on the Internet, or
• Physically access their local Michigan Works! service center.

This initiative is based on a key assumption: that faith-based and community-based organizations frequently are trusted institutions by persons who have the greatest need and who historically are the hardest to reach and serve in a cost-effective manner. These organizations are home to a large number of caring volunteers who not only bring the transformational power of personal relationships, but also a sustained allegiance to the well-being of the people in their community.
EaRN/HopeWorks is looking for additional affiliates in under-served areas of Michigan. If you are a faith-based or community-based organizations with a mission to help persons find employment and achieve economic independence, we can help.
Mission Statement
"To expand the access of Michigan faith-based and community-based organizations to employment and training resources, including the workforce development system of the State of Michigan.”
